Aesys offers its Audio-visual Next-stop Information System as an on-vehicle display with acoustic announcement and LED signage.
This caters for both people who are either sight or hearing-impaired. The system provides passengers with real-time complete and correct information on the vehicles location on route .
The on-board central unit (which is the operating core of the local system) uses GPS (Global Positioning System) together with the electronic gyroscope and the odometer, and compares the data gathered to an array of geographical co-ordinates that are stored in the unit's memory and relay these to the passenger.
The information (the name of the next stop) is displayed on the sign (usign the signs LED technology) and simultaneously, an acoustic announcement is relayed through the loudspeakers.
The management is automated and thus completely independent of the driver. This information service to the passengers allows them to determine the vehicle's position. The system will also automatically adapt to unplanned route changes.
The Aesys Audio-visual Next-stop Information System can also be integrated with DESTLINE - the Aesys Voice Announcement System - , and provide the passengers waiting at the bus stop with the information of the bus location.
