The choice of the bus route is made by the driver typing in a code on the keyboard of the on-board control unit.
The complete set of codes and their corresponding destination are defined using specially software created by Aesys which can be easily installed on a PC. This software makes it possible to create several “line signs files” in order to differentiate among them groups of route (e.g. summer or winter route).
Furthermore it is possible to handle more line signs and equipment through a single file so simplifying the integration of future developments.
The data archive, containing all the information regarding bus route and line signs, is then transferred to the on-board control unit, using a flash-card, PC or data-loader, which needs to be connected for only a short time for the necessary update transmission.
If changes are made to a bus route a simple reprogramming can update the signs. Loading and unloading of data operations are supported by diagnostic functions that guarantee the correct and complete transmission avoiding loss of time.
For each bus destination, Aesys VerbaBUS® software allows the possibility to define:
- Activation’s code
-
Body of message, which can be visualized on the display of the on-board control unit in order to verify the correct selection
-
Line and destination signs visualized on the VerbaBUS® equipment in the standing or moving way
-
Typology of the displayed characters: fonts, dimensions, spacing, etc
