Aesys DestLine (Destination Line) is an automated voice announcement system addressed to people waiting at bus stop, to give them audibly information about the bus line and route .
When the bus stops, after the opening of the doors, an acoustic diffusers, by an outside vocal device, give a voice announcement about the route, addressed to users waiting to come on-board, as:
“bus line 10 destination New York City” or
“bus line 10 from Boston to New York City"
The acoustic announcement can be repeated several times, also in different languages and at pre-defined times, for the duration that the doors are opened.
The handling of the voice announcement system doesn’t require the intervention of the driver at all, because the message is transmitted to diffusors by on-board central unit, on the same time when the Aesys LED destination signs VerbaBUS® are setted by the driver.
The Aesys DestLine is particularly appreciated by people with sight impairements that can have their information needs satisfied and, as they feel assisted, are thereby are encouraged to use public transit.
